We have been out on a Grand Tour of Canadian Ski Resorts. Based on the Ikon Pass which offers 7 days skiing each in multiple resorts. We planned a tour to try out some of the resorts we have missed over the years and re-visit a few old friends. The Ikon Pass costs just over £1,000 and you need to buy it in April or later through your travel agent or the Ski Club, GB. It sounds like a lot but if you think you can have 7 days in each of multiple resorts it works out very economical. We drove along the Powder Highway and the Icefields Parkway, both iconic drives.

We flew out of Inverness on Tuesday around midday with an overnight at Heathrow Airport in London, before flying out to Vancouver for another overnight stay before the next morning’s flight up to Kamloops where we picked up a car before we drove up to Sun Peaks, our first stop.

We are planning to write up all the resorts and the skiing available in each of the resorts over this coming autumn along with details of the driving, our hotels and a few tips on making the most of a trip to some of Canada’s best skiing.

• Panorama – 2 Days Skiing
  • Accommodation at Panorama Mountain Village

• Jasper/Marmot Basin – 2 Days Skiing
  • Accommodation at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

• Lake Louise – 5 Days Skiing
  • Accommodation at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

• Banff, Sunshine – 2 Days Skiing
  • Accommodation at Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel

On top of this we have just returned from a final week of the season in Tignes, France.
